Lakehawk Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule

Leesburg, Fla. – Unlike last year, the Lake-Sumter State College volleyball team is preparing for their FALL season and have released their full schedule.

It feels like, as far as sports at LSSC go, things are getting back to where they should be. Volleyball spent the 2020-21 school year playing their first ever spring season, along with the rest of the NJCAA due to COVID-19 precautions. The program has begun full on practices and are looking toward the start of their season at the end of this month.

With the addition of four new teams to the Region 8 DII volleyball (St. Pete College, Pensacola State College, Florida State College – Jacksonville, Palm Beach State College), the Sun-Lakes Conference schedule begins earlier this year than any time before. Lake-Sumter will kickoff the start of the 2021-22 season on the road against conference foe, Pasco-Hernando State College Friday, August 20 at 5 pm.

The schedule goes through October 23 and includes 12 home dates throughout the season. Important dates to remember include; Tuesday, September 24 is the home opener against St. John's River State College at 6 pm. Saturday, October 9 will be PINK day against Pensacola State College and is set to begin at noon. The regular season will come to an end Saturday, October 3 against Florida Gateway and will be Sophomore Night.

Postseason play will begin the final week of October with more information to come as the season gets started.
