Lakahawk Track Concludes Regular Season at East Coast Relays
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Track & Field) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) track and field teams competed at the East Coast Relays meet hosted at the University of North Florida. Despite several hours of weather delays and competing on a wet track, the Lakehawks delivered strong performances across all events.
On the men's side, Judson Nichols-Webb, delivered a huge personal record (PR) in the Javelin. Nichols-Webb threw 62.57m which converts to 205 feet and tthree inches to place fourth overall in the event.
He currently ranks eighth nationally in the event, establishing himself as one of the top javelin throwers in the county ahead of the national championships in May.
The Lakehawk men also had strong performances in the jumps. Jeremiah Wiley placed 12th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.93m and returned for the long jump with a mark of 6.77m.
On the track, Spencer Palmer led the middle distance group with two strong races. He placed 15th in the 1500m with a time of 3:56.50 and came back with a 16th place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:54.39.
Noah Kaegi also recorded a PR in the 1500m with a time of 4:06.88.
In the 5000m, Thatcher Clarke finished in 16:28.02 followed by Bryce Blalock at 17:59.59. In the 200m, Christopher Morinvil ran 22.36 followed by Devonte Hanson in 22.91.
The Lakehawk women also put together strong performances across their events over the weekend.
Jaden Miller led the women competing long jump with a mark of 5.81m ranking 13th nationally in the event ahead of the national championships. She also finished 15th in the triple jump with a lead of 11.16m.
Oksanna Smith continued to impress on the track in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.85. She now ranks sixth nationally in the event.
In the 800m, Sade Lee led the group with a time of 2:27.21. Neelyanis Lugo Ramos ran 2:30.88 followed by Lily Lewis in 2:33.83.
Jameria Sutton led the team in the sprint events running a 12.72 in the 100m and a 25.93 in the 200m. Isabella Dean ran 13.21 in the 100m and 27.44 in the 200m.
With a successful final event in the books, the Lakehawks now look to the 2026 NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships scheduled for May 14-16 in Hobbs, New Mexico. For more information regarding this year's championship, visit the NJCAA Championship page here.
