Lakehawk Track & Field Competes at East Coast Relays for Final Regular Season Meet
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Track & Field) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) track & field took on elite competition at the 2025 East Coast Relays hosted by the University of North Florida for their final meet of the regular season. Facing top NCAA Division I programs, the Lakehawks rose to the challenge, producing personal bests and new school records.
Sade Lee opened the weekend with a breakthrough performance in the 1500m with a time of 5:23.43 – a 16-second personal record (PR) and a new school record. She followed with the 800m, clocking a time of 2:28.93 for a PR and a school record, capping one of her best weekends of competition.
Oksanna Smith continued her dominance in the 400m Hurdles, finishing in 1:04.00.
Jaden Miller had a standout performance in the 100m posting a time of 12.98 seconds for a new PR. She also competed in the long jump, finishing with a mark of 5.31m.
Isabella Dean recorded a time of 28.50 in the 200m followed by a new PR with a time of 13.22 seconds in the 100m. Sydnee Massey rounded out the sprint group clocking a time of 13.49 in the 100m and 28.25 in the 200m.
Spencer Palmer led the men's squad with a strong 4:02.91 in the 1500m
Thatcher Clarke competed in the 3000m Steeplechase on Friday. He crushed his previous PR with a time of 10:22.60, marking one of the top highlights from the weekend.
Connor Parrish joined Clarke in the Steeplechase, logging a time of 2:04.77. Cohen Hartley's 800m time of 2:03.48 dropped his previous PR by nearly 10 seconds.
In the sprints, Mark Fyffe ran 22.40 in the 200m into a heavy headwind. Fyffe and Chris Morinvil both competed in the 400m, recording a time of 49.73 and 49.80, respectively.
The Lakehawks now look ahead to the 2025 NJCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships later this month. More information regarding the event and qualifying individuals will be available soon.
