NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (Softball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) Softball added two more wins in Sun-Lakes Conference action over the weekend against Pasco-Hernando State College. The Lakehawks defeated the Bobcats 6-2 in game one and 11-10 in game three after dropping a 6-7 game two.
In the three-four spots in the lineup, Baylie Goodwin and Mittie O'Brien continue to be an offensive force for the Lakehawks.
Goodwin went 6-for-11 with five RBIs and three runs scored. O'Brien also went 6-for-11 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
Sydney Klein recorded a complete-game win in game one on Friday afternoon. She allowed just two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.
Caitlyn Frampton recorded the win after entering the game in the sixth inning in relief for O'Brien. Klein recorded the save after pitching a perfect seventh inning.
The Lakehawks move to 25-3 on the season, 5-7 in conference play. Lake-Sumter currently ranks fifth in Sun-Lakes standings, two games behind South Florida State College.
Lake-Sumter will faceoff with Florida Gateway College next weekend. Friday's game will is scheduled for Friday at 1:00 in Lake City, Fla. before the Lakehawks return to Leesburg on Saturday against the Timberwolves at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
