Duquette, Ellis Named Region 8 Softball Players of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Softball) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) announced the weekly awards for April 29, 2025. Lakehawk Softball swept the final week of awards with Kaitlyn Duquette and Savannah Ellis.
Duquette earns the honor for the first time this season while Ellis earns her third honor of the year.
Kaitlyn Duquette – Pitcher of the Week
Duquette tossed a complete-game shutout against Florida Gateway in game two of their double header on Tuesday to record her 10th win on the season from the mound. She allowed just one hit while striking out three.
Duquette ended the regular season with a 10-3 record with one save and a 2.16 ERA. In 87.2 innings pitched, she has 73 strikeouts at 5.83 K/9 with 66 hits and 50 walks for a 1.32 WHIP.
Savannah Ellis – Player of the Week
In two games last week against Florida Gateway, Ellis batted .833 (5-for-6) with two runs scored, two doubles, one triple, and two RBIs. In game two against the Wolves, Ellis went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two doubles, and two RBIs.
Ellis finished the regular season with a .344 batting average, a .393 on-base percentage, and a .425 slugging percentage. In 160 at bats, she recorded 55 hits with 35 RBIs and 32 walks with just nine strikeouts.
Duquette and Ellis now look ahead with the Lakehawks to the 2025 FCSAA DII Softball Championship on May 1-3 in Palatka, Fla. Lake-Sumter will enter the championship as the #2 seed and are set to face the #3 seed Pasco-Hernando in the opening round.
