Lakehawk Golf Wraps Up Seahawk Shootout
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Men's Golf) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) men's golf team completed the final round of the Seahawk Shootout at PGA National Resort on Tuesday afternoon. This tournament served as an early test for the Lakehawks, with challenging conditions and a competitive field pushing the team over 54 holes of play.
Tripp Watkins led the team throughout the tournament posting a career-best three-round score of +11.
Sebastian Gonzalez came in second for the Lakehawks at +17. His best 18 came in round two finishing with a +4.
Nate Williams and Kasen Schlichenmaier round out the team's score with a +30 and +31 respectively.
This first tournament provided a valuable opportunity to identify areas for growth and shake off early-season rust. The Lakehawks now focus towards building momentum and coming back stronger in the next outing.
Lakehawk Men's Golf will go back on the road Oct. 21-22 for the Atomic City Classic in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The tournament is hosted by Roane State Community College, a familiar NJCAA Division II opponent.
