James Named FCSAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Baseball) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) announced the weekly awards Mar. 3, 2026. Freshman right handed pitcher Jacob James was named the FCSAA DII Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career at Lake-Sumter.
Last week, James got the start in game three against reigning national champion Pasco-Hernando State College. In seven innings pitched, he held the Bobcat offense to just one unearned run on two hits while fanning five.
For the season, James has one win on the mound in 23.2 innings pitched across seven appearances. He has a 2.95 earned run average with 20 strikeouts.
James and the Lakehawks continue Sun-Lakes Conference action this weekend against St. Johns River State College. The Lakehawks will travel to Palatka on Friday for the series opener at 4:00 p.m. and will be back in Leesburg on Saturday for a double header at 12:00 and 3:00 p.m.
