PREVIEW: Lakehawk Baseball at 2025 FCSAA DII Baseball Championship

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (Baseball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) Baseball travels to New Port Richey, Fla. for the 2025 FCSAA DII Baseball Championship on May 1-3. Earning a spot in the postseason for the first time since 2018, the Lakehawks enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed after finishing the regular season with a 13-17 record in Sun-Lakes Conference play.

Pasco-Hernando State College earned the bid to host after becoming the 2025 Sun-Lakes Conference champions. The Bobcats finished the season with a 27-3 conference record.

Lake-Sumter will open the tournament against the top-seeded Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1. No. 2 South Florida State College and No. 3 St. Johns River State College will face off at 7:00 p.m.

After the first round, the tournament transitions to double elimination format.

The first round losing teams will drop into the loser's bracket and play to keep their seasons alive for one more game at 2:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

The winners will play at 7:00 p.m. The final team left undefeated will advance to the FCSAA title game on Saturday, May 3 at 5:00 p.m.
