Lakehawk Track & Field Wraps Up PURE Athletics Spring Invite
CLERMONT, Fla. (Track & Field) – The Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) track & field teams were back on the track over the weekend at the Orlando Health – National Training Center Track & Field Complex. Of the 21 Lakehawks that competed, there were 12 new personal records (PR) and five school records set.
Mark Fyffe continues his outstanding season by winning the Long Jump with a leap of 7.43m, a PR and school record. Fyffe inked his name on two more records as well, the 100m with a time of 10.67m and the 200m with a time of 21.44m.
Teammates Chris Morinvil and Devonte Hanson finished second and third respectively in the Long Jump. Morinvil also took sixth in the 400m with a time of 49.01 seconds.
In the 400m, the Lakehawks swept several top-10 finishes including a PRs from Cohen Hartley (53.01) and Dylan Royal (54.03).
The 800m saw a sweep of the top-three spots by Thatcher Clarke (2:01.87), Anthoney Allen (2:02.41), and Connor Parrish (2:06.17).
On the women's team, Sydnee Massey recorded PRs in the 100m (13.13) and 200m (27.08). Sade Lee set a new school record in the 800m with a time of 2:29.51.
Jaden Miller had another standout day, placing second in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.55m and second in the triple jump at 10.67m.
The Lakehawks will be in Jacksonville, Fla. this weekend for the East Coast Relays at the University of North Florida for their final regular season meet before the 2025 NJCAA Track & Field Championships later in May.
